Almondmilk Cashewmilk Smoothiness

by SweetMidlife

Hi everyone! Lynne here!

Leslie and I are both fans of the smoothie, and who wouldn’t be? They are creamy deliciousness that can also be healthy, and that is a must for us. As you know, we are both striving to be mindful about how we treat our bodies, and you may also know that we like when things taste good. When ‘healthy” means boring and bland, that makes me want to dive into a vat of gravy.

But we don’t have to do that, because there are plenty of indulgently good-for-you foods out there, and we found one! Blue Diamond has just introduced a new flavor of their yummy Almond Breeze Almondmilks: Almondmilk Cashewmilk Blend. And it’s really good. I was very excited to try this out, because I can eat roasted cashews by the bagful, and drinking them sounded delightful. DE. LIGHT. FUL.

So, I wanted to show you guys something that I made with the Almond Breeze Almondmilk Cashewmilk blend, and this is it…

It’s an Bananacado Nutmilk Smoothie! Yes, it’s banana and avocados. Yes, that might sound weird. But it’s actually really delicious. That’s because the creaminess of the avocado pairs really well with the smoothness of the Almondmilk and Cashewmilk, and when you out those together with smoothie mainstay, the banana, you have yummy. So much that my 3 year-old, whose favorite foods are actual apples but also strawberry lollipops, took a sip and asked if he could keep it.

Good, right? Here is how I made it…

Bananacado Nutmilk Smoothie

1 Large Banana
1 cup Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almondmilk Cashewmilk Blend
1/2 Medium-sized Haas Avocado
4 drops Liquid Stevia

I broke up my banana and put it in the cup of my Magic Bullet personal blender. If you don’t have one of those, or want to double this and make 2 smoothies, you can always put it in a regular sized-blender.

Next, I then put in a cup of Almond Breeze Almondmilk Cashewmilk Blend.

Then I added the avocado to the cup and tried not to eat what was leftover because they are good and fatty and I wanted to have room for the actual smoothie.

Next, I added 4 of drops of Liquid Stevia. I know that Stevia, a natural no-calorie sweetener, is not everyone’s taste, but I love the touch of sweetness that it adds to beverages without adding extra calories. If you don’t dig it, just use sugar to taste.

I then put the Magic Bullet and the stand and let that thing go.

And then I drank it.

And then my kid stole the rest of it when I put it down. It was that good.

Ooh, one thing: you will see whey protein powder in the picture at the top of this post. I regularly use that in smoothies, but I didn’t this time because I wanted to make this vegan and dairy-free for those of you who might use Almond Breeze nutmilks as an alternative to dairy. But if you are down with the cow, whey it up!

So, if you are looking for a quick breakfast, after-workout drink, or a yummy snack, try this here thing out. And if you want to make up your own smoothie, or try something new in your own favorite smoothie, give Almond Breeze Almondmilk Cashewmilk Blend a try. Yes.
